About

A Scottish landscape painter with love of wandering, windy hill tops and unpredictable weather, artist Julie Arbuckle works in a variety of media to reinterpret landscape. Julie is inspired by geology, maps, and the act of travelling through a landscape. By redefining space on the two-dimensional canvas, she is often concerned with combining fragments to create a cohesive whole image. Thus, her work is concerned with expressing not just a picture-postcard representation of a place but creating images that speak of being in a landscape for a period of time.
